Inside Elevate Organic's Commitment to Regenerative Agriculture

Inside Elevate Organic's Commitment to Regenerative Agriculture

We talk about regenerative agriculture a lot, but we've never really slowed down and explained what that actually looks like in practice: what regenerative farming means on the ground, why we prioritize it, and why we think it matters for you specifically.

Why Farming Practices End Up in Your Supplement

This is the part most supplement brands skip over entirely. The conversation usually jumps straight from "clean ingredients" to "what's in the capsule,” without ever addressing what happened before the ingredient was harvested.

But farming practices directly affect nutritional quality. Soil health determines the mineral content of the plants and the forage that animals eat. The forage animals eat determines the nutrient density of the dairy and meat they produce. The quality of those raw materials determines what ends up in a finished product, and what that product can actually do for you.

A protein powder made from the dairy of grass-fed cows on mineral-rich, regeneratively managed pasture is genuinely different from one made from commodity dairy. Not just philosophically. Measurably. In amino acid profiles, fatty acid ratios, and micronutrient content.

What Regenerative Agriculture Actually Does

Conventional farming focuses on maintaining land well enough to keep producing. Regenerative farming has a different goal: to actively improve the land over time.

In practice, that means a few things. Rotational grazing, or moving animals across pasture in a managed rotation, gives land time to rest and recover between grazing periods. This prevents overgrazing, builds soil organic matter, and supports the diversity of plant species animals have access to. Cover cropping protects and enriches soil between growing seasons. Minimal tillage preserves the complex underground ecosystem of bacteria, fungi, and microorganisms that make soil biologically active and nutrient-dense. The result is land that gets healthier with each passing year rather than more depleted.

What Regenerative Organic Certified® Means for Our Products

Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™) is the third-party standard we use to verify that our sourcing meets regenerative principles. It builds on USDA Organic and adds requirements around three specific areas: soil health and land management practices, animal welfare that goes beyond organic minimums, and farmer and worker fairness.

ROC™ isn't a checkbox. It requires farms to demonstrate active improvement of soil health over time through documented land management practices. It's more rigorous than organic certification alone, which is part of why it matters to us.

What This Means for the Animals

Regenerative farming and animal welfare are deeply connected. Animals raised on regeneratively managed pasture have access to diverse, nutrient-rich forage. They're not confined. They're raised in environments that align with how they naturally live and eat. Treating animals well isn't separate from making high-quality products. It's part of how high-quality products get made.

Why We Think This Is the Only Way Forward

It is a known fact that regenerative sourcing costs more and takes more work than buying from commodity suppliers. But we started Elevate Organic because we believed there was a better way to make supplements, one where every decision in the supply chain reflected the same standard of care as the formulation itself. We will continue to support regenerative farming practices, raise awareness for the planet, and prioritize regenerative organic ingredients wherever possible.
